- Working on planning, research and development projects at an engineering office (civil engineering) (1993-1997), an research and development institute (1997-2000) and another engineering office (2001-2007)
- Dissertation “Determination and evaluation of effects of real time control in sewer systems”, doctoral thesis, Department of Civil Engineering, Geo- and Environmental Science of University Karlsruhe, Institute for Aquatic Environmental Engineering (2008)
